Cold & flu gotcha down?
So I used to get sick once a year like clockwork. It always started with extreme thirst and a dry throat. Within 6-12 hours my throat was on FIRE! That lasted for about two days and then the congestion kicked in. After the congestion, my voice was just WIPED. And let me tell you, there is NOTHING more frustrating than trying to win an argument with your husband when you have NO voice (though I’m right anyway. haha).
But guess what? Those days are long gone. It took awhile, but I can finally say my immune system is in good shape! Almost daily smoothies with ginger root plus tons of vitamin C fruits really do help strengthen your cells so you fight off illness better.
Even though I don’t get sick very often, I can STILL feel the extreme thirst and dry throat kick in from time to time. But now I know how to fight it off. My top recommendation is elderberry syrup (homemade is cheapest). But to go along with that I also make a lime ginger drink. Wanna see how easy it is to make your own? Let’s go.
6 limes, peeled
2-3 inch piece of ginger root, peeled
1 cup water

Blend until smooth. Strain.
Add 2-3 more cups of water.

Sweeten to taste with raw honey. Enjoy hot or cold. Say hello to RELIEF! Refrigerate the rest and drink liberally!
